I don’t mean to offend anyone, but if you haven’t heard of Doom Juice you are living under a rock.. sorry, but it’s true. I will however, forgive you for not knowing that Doom Juice have Doom Juice Cellar Door that opened in April of this year. The devil is in the details (hehe) and Doom Juice haven’t skimped on details at all - for example, the cursor on their website is a little yellow flaming arrow - so fun!

They have leaned into the devilish theme of their address - 66/6 - devil decals on the walls, rich red velvet curtains, a giant spiky skull-shaped disco ball spinning above the bar, and church pews turned into dining booths. It's moody, chaotic, and fun.

The team are decked out in matching red jumpsuits, looking like the world's friendliest cult members.

beautiful Sofi and the team!

Doom Juice Cellar Door even have a takeaway booze fridge, filled with.. well.. booze, and spicy, spicy pasta sauce (delivered with a heat warning). There is a claw machine too where you can try your luck! This was the only day I’ve ever seen anyone win anything on a claw machine - Frase clawed a cap that says “I ♡ skin contact”, and walked away a very happy chap.

The food is just as creative as the venue itself. Fish and chips becomes a tin of sardines with crisps, while the Parmi and chips is transformed into shaved prosciutto with crisps, pickled chilli, parmesan and hot honey. It's a playful menu that works perfectly with the space.

If we’re talking wine, which we absolutely should be, the website states “natural wine - made in hell”. The cult classic Doom Juice Rouge is my fave; a Shiraz/Grenache combo that comes chilled and suits all climates, and has notes of raspberry and cherry, with earthy tones. If the rouge isn’t available I’ll opt for its equally delicious counterpart Doom Juice Fizz - a refreshing Pet Nat with notes of strawberry, citrus, and goji.

We visited mid afternoon on a dull Sydney winter’s day, and boy oh boy was it bustling! We were thankful we had a reservation - so perhaps you should do the same. We will be back in no time.

Make a deal with the devil, see you at 66/6.
